Listen to me on Purposeful Conversations: Healthy Minds Podcast with FCPS

Hi, I am Sharita (she/her)

Thanks for being here and taking the first step towards YOUR healing journey. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Northern Virginia with 15 years of experience specializing in working with teens/parents, young adults, and women. Over the years, I have worked in various settings and I have provided training for crisis line employees supporting survivors of sexual assault, I have worked with servicemembers and their families, schools, and psychiatric hospitals. My practice is rooted in evidence-based and trauma informed approaches, with a particular focus on anxiety, trauma and personal boundaries.

I have completed extensive trainings in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Anxiety, Trauma, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and I am committed to being a lifelong learner, providing safe, compassionate, and authentic spaces to support my clients on their journey towards healing and growth.

My Style

My therapy style is down to earth, blending extensive clinical knowledge with a knack for avoiding all the extra fluffy technical jargon. But if you want fluffy, I got you! As an outside-the-box thinker, I approach therapy with innovation, rejecting the idea that all sessions should occur on a sofa. I pull from a variety of therapeutic models, which allows me to tailor treatment to the individual needs of my clients. My priority is to create a comfortable and open environment where clients feel safe to explore their thoughts and emotions freely. This is the building block of the work that I do so that I can foster a collaborative and empowering therapeutic relationship.

Ready to Take the Next Step?

I know that taking that first step can be quite scary. Let’s be honest, opening up to a stranger and talking about all of “your stuff” can be a little overwhelming. Just know that I am here to support your and we can start with whatever size step that works for you.

Whether you are a teen/young adult exploring your options for support, a parent feeling lost about how to support their kiddo or a woman who always feels overextended or feels like even though I have “done everything” I still fell like I need to do more….Let’s connect to see if we would be a good fit.
